How Does The Procedure Work?

Our 3 Steps: To complete the full restoration of your smile, you will visit Dr. Remaley for a series of appointments. It starts with a free consultation where Dr. Remaley examines your mouth and develops a treatment plan. He will evaluate your gum tissue height to ensure the dental crown that will top your implant will bend with the existing teeth. With dental implant treatment from Roswell Dental Care, you can expect the following:

  1. Your comfort is our priority, so we start by numbing and isolating the affected region with a local anesthetic. The implant is affixed to the jawbone below gum level. The area is then allowed to heal and integrating with surrounding bone.
  2. During your next visit, the implant is evaluated to make sure it properly integrated with the bone. A specialized dental post, known as the abutment, is then fitted onto the implant, which will later serve as a platform for the crown.
  3. Finally, we’ll place the artificial tooth, or the crown, on top of the abutment. We use the latest technology to ensure your new porcelain crown match the exact shade of your natural teeth.

Why Do Teeth Fall Out?

Many factors can contribute to tooth loss, but in many cases, it occurs because of periodontal infection (gum disease) or dental caries (tooth decay). Other contributors to tooth loss include:

  • Genetics
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Age
  • Dental trauma
  • Smoking or drinking habits

What Are The Consequences Of Missing Teeth?

Missing teeth disrupt a balanced relationship between teeth and bone. If missing teeth are not fixed, over time you may start to experience problems with your remaining teeth and lose the ability to speak and eat normally. Problems that arise because of missing teeth include:

  • TMJ disorders
  • Sinus expansion
  • Collapse of facial profile
  • Remaining teeth drift
  • Misalignment leads to pain and dysfunction
  • Other facial features become distorted

What Are Dental Implants?

The implants are tiny titanium posts which are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, dental implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing. Dental implants are changing the way people live! With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life. Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth.
